The Benet Buddies is open to any student interested in working with neurodiverse people and/or people with special needs to promote inclusion in our nearby community. We have developed partnerships with Turning Pointe Autism Foundation, South East Area Special Parks & Recreation (SEASPAR), and Special Olympics Region C.
~ Benet volunteers at Turning Pointe spend one Saturday a month at a respite event hosted at Turning Pointe where they develop trust and friendships with students who have Intellectual or Developmental Disabilities (IDD.) We also participate in various social events at Turning Pointe to include a pumpkin derby race, and spring outdoor clean-up.
~ Benet volunteers at SEASPAR assist adults 18 and older at Benet hosted social dances and some SEASPAR sponsored athletic events.
~ Benet Buddies volunteers have the opportunity to work at five Special Olympic events including bowling, basketball, Polar Plunge, soccer, and spring games.
