Charles P. Brummel, age 84, a resident of the Villa St Benedict Community since 2013 and formerly of Glen Ellyn, IL, passed away peacefully on March 22, 2025. He was born on June 17, 1940 in Aurora, IL.
Charles is survived by his devoted wife of 50 years, Cathy (nee Adduci); his loving daughters, Elizabeth (Jeromie) Munoz and Mary (Keith) Maves; his cherished grandchildren, Steven, Lilia and Grace Munoz, Brittany (Chad) Long, Will and Jake Maves; his adored great-granddaughter, Vanessah Lane; his dear brother, David (Mary) Brummel and brother-in-law, Tony (Lynne) Adduci; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, former students and good friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents Carl and Margaret Brummel; his brother, Marvin (the late Gail) Brummel.
Charles was raised in Warrenville and attended SS. Peter & Paul Grade School. He graduated from St. Procopius Academy and earned his bachelor’s degree from St. Procopius College. He later earned his Masters Degree in Education from National Louis University. Upon his graduation from St. Procopius College, Charles began his career at Benet Academy and taught Math, English and Humanities. He spent 38 wonderful years at Benet Academy and retired in 2000.
Charles loved to be outside and enjoyed gardening during his summers off. He held a deep appreciation for genealogy and researched his family back hundreds of years.

Visitation will be Wednesday, March 26, 4:00-8:00 PM at the Friedrich-Jones Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 44 S. Mill St., Naperville. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, March 27, 11:00 AM at Sacred Heart Monastery Chapel, 1910 Maple Ave., Lisle.
