Mission Statement: To bring together culture, advocacy, and fun create a stronger Asian American community.
Club Description: We foster diversity by creating a space where students feel they are welcomed and belong. Asian American Club is a place for all students–not just those with Asian heritage–to learn about different Asian cultures. Each meeting revolves around a topic/culture (e.g. Diwali, Christmas Around Asia, Lunar New Year, etc.), and student/parent guest speakers who are part of the respective culture come to share their experiences and how their families partake in these traditions.
We foster a community of young adults that want to change the world. Our biggest outreach project is our child-sponsorship through World Vision, which is supported through the collection of member dues at the beginning of the school year. We have been matched with a young boy named Jared from the Philippines, and intend to continue sponsoring him until he graduates high school. Additionally, to support our surrounding community, we catered boba from a local shop, and the proceeds were donated to Benet’s Christmas Drive.
